President Trump announced on Sunday that
Dan Coats will step down as director of national intelligence after a
tenure in which the two were often at odds over Russia, North Korea and
the president’s own attacks on the intelligence community.“I
am pleased to announce that highly respected Congressman John Ratcliffe
of Texas will be nominated by me to be the Director of National
Intelligence,” Mr. Trump tweeted.
